What is the difference between those who see the value of the Arts and those who do not? Is it related to the ability to see, the need for control, imagination, compassion, love, awareness, curiosity, and openness?
Political factions draw sharp lines between what is considered ‘acceptable’ art and what is not. Many work assiduously to defund the arts. Those who see no value in art are not just denying art but also the rich history of civilization.
We cannot make someone like art; those who already love and embrace art need not be convinced. Yet, as a civilization, art and expression are the only neutral factors that can save humanity.
Despite those who deny it, the spirit of expression, the process of making art, comes closest to a state of conscious awareness. May we all go to that place from where beauty and creative expression arise.
